SHEAF OF CONTACT FORMS

Abstract

This paper concerns the study of certain sheaves of differential forms on fibered manifolds. We introduce subsheaves Ωk r(s) of contact or strongly contact k-forms over JrY . The softness of the sheaves Θk r(s) = dΩk−1 r(s) + Ωk r(s) is proved. Moreover, we construct a quotient sequence, which depends on the index s, and show that it is an acyclic resolution of the constant sheaf R over the given fibered manifold. In the case s = 0, the above sequence is the variational sequence.
